Our History A Decade of Faithfulness. Warm Blankets Orphan Care International was founded in 1999 as a response to the overwhelming orphan

crisis throughout Asia and Africa. With a heart for the

least of these and a desire to see nations transformed

by the Gospel, Warm Blankets Orphan Care has a

vision to care for the orphans of the world and raise

them as disciples of Christ and leaders of their

generation.

What began as a private effort on a very small scale

in Southeast Asia grew into an international ministry

that has reached into over a dozen countries. For

years, the team has committed their resources to

research systems and models of raising at-risk and orphaned children. Leading orphan care

experts helped WBOCI formulate a successful model of rescue and care that is solidly based on a

Biblical world-view. The Lord revealed a plan that would provide a way to restore lost childhoods

in a Christ-centered home setting. This model provides children with a basis for decision-making

built on a firm foundation that they can trust.

And so, in 1999, Warm Blankets Orphan Care began working with the indigenous church to

transform nations and to restore childhoods through rescuing and caring for orphans and widows.

Today, WBOCI is one of the largest family reunification and orphan rescue organizations in the

world with hundreds of permanent Church Orphan Homes and a record of thousands of child-

family restorations in a dozen countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe.
