Language Education Program for Orphans

The Teaching English as a Second Language program is making a positive impact in our Church Orphan Homes.  The TESL teacher will tell you the ability to speak and write the English language will greatly multiply educational and vocational opportunities.  The kids will tell you it's fun!  Our Cambodian orphans are eager for a challenge!  Did you know it is generally our children who are at the top of their classes in the community schools?  Yes, our children are amazing! An English book library (the Kids' Library) and the occasional visit of English speaking visitors and Missions Teams encourage everyone to practice their acquired skills. 

The American school teacher is supported by translators and some very eager older students.  Apart from the standard TESL curriculum our instructors are also using tools such as the Jesus film, age appropriate reading materials, worship songs, audio books, and even sermons.  As the children grow in their faith, their relationship with Jesus Christ will sustain them spiritually and emotionally throughout their lives.  Being able to speak and write in English will enable them to be a part of an increasingly English speaking world.
